Webhook

A real-time HTTP callback that sends data from one application to another when a specific event occurs.

Webhooks are the connective tissue of modern automation stacks. When a new customer pays in Stripe, a webhook fires to trigger your onboarding sequence in Make.com. Unlike polling (repeatedly checking for changes), webhooks are event-driven and near-instantaneous. Most SaaS tools support webhooks, making them the preferred integration method for building reactive, real-time AI workflows.
